Downtown Boys / Moira Scar @ Batcave

MOIRA SCAR from Oakland play driving, experimental guitar and keyboard focused jams with a healthy dose of theatrics which are not at all gimmicky. One (or more?) of the members also performs in VEX from Oakland who are definitely worth checking out! Their performance this night at the Bat Cave did well to challenge the audience and provide a high level of stoke for the headlining group. DOWNTOWN BOYS from Providence, RI take political and social consciousness to the dance floor and are not fucking around. Self described as “bi bilingual political dance sax punk party,” their performance was all that and more. Highlights of the night included the singer stopping the show to calm down the horse play of the tall men in the audience to make room for people of smaller stature to enjoy the dance floor, and the presentation of a birthday cake and birthday song for one of their members. Truly a memorable experience. Check out their album “Full Communism” because they’re blowing up and not likely to make a return trip to our little burg. Shout out to Violette Crabtree for the incredible Werewolf / Cyborg / Bigfoot / Rainbow backdrop creation for this show!
